Job summary

RTX, a world-leading aerospace and defense company, seeks an Electrical Subsystems Digital Senior Principal Engineer to lead digital design for advanced guidance systems, primarily FPGA-focused. You will drive architecture, requirements, integration and testing across multidisciplinary teams.

Role involves collaboration with customers and suppliers, mentorship, and possible travel (~25%). A DoD Secret clearance is required to start, and US citizenship is mandatory for the security clearance

Qualifications

• Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in STEM and 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience in analog, digital and power electronics design and integration.
• Ability to decompose high-level requirements into actionable designs and architecture.
• Subsystem architectural design and digital sub-systems experience.
• Hands-on troubleshooting with circuit cards or electro-mechanical systems preferred.
• Active and transferable U.S. government Secret clearance is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead digital design efforts for development guidance systems with FPGA focus.
• Own program execution including cost, schedule and technical oversight.
• Support component level design and design reviews.
• Mentor and be mentored within a strong engineering culture.
• Collaborate with functional and program management, customers, and suppliers.
• Travel up to ~25% as required.
• Guide teams through hardware lifecycle phases, architecture and requirement tests.
• Present designs and conduct root-cause investigations.
