Job summary

RTX in Tucson seeks an Electrical Subsystems Digital Principal Engineer to lead or support FPGA-based digital designs for development guidance systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams on architecture, integration, and test.

This role requires a STEM degree and 8+ years of relevant experience, active DoD Secret clearance, and willingness to travel about 25%. Relocation is possible; RTX offers a comprehensive benefits package and incentive programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM and 8 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in analog, digital, and power electronics design, integration, and production support.
• Decomposition of high-level requirements into actionable design electronics and subsystem architecture.
• Subsystem architectural design and experience with Digital sub-systems, requirement development, and CAD/assembly design.
• Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Lead or support digital design efforts for development guidance systems with FPGA focus.
• Enhance skills through hands-on testing and debugging of complex circuit card assemblies or electro-mechanical systems.
• Support component-level design and test reviews.
• Mentor and be mentored within RTX’s engineering culture.
• Collaborate with functional and program management; coordinate with customers and suppliers.
• Assignments may require travel (~25%).
• Lead or participate in hardware lifecycle activities from design to integration and verification.
