Job summary

Motorola Solutions is seeking a Senior Presales Engineer to architect complex Land Mobile Radio infrastructure, from scope to sale, guiding technical designs and customer expectations.

You will lead a high-performing team across sales, service, and engineering, delivering tailored solutions that meet mission-critical needs while aligning with company goals. West Coast or Texas residency and up to 25% travel are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 6+ years in sales, sales engineering, solutions architecture, military and/or public safety (or 10+ years of experience)
• Strong knowledge of wireless communications fundamentals and voice/data architectures (APCO P25, LTE, 802.11, 3G/4G)
• Strong knowledge of IP networking architectures, protocols and security

Responsibilities

• Trusted advisor to customers and sales team
• Customer requirements discovery
• Technology strategy development
• Radio coverage design and analysis
• Equipment list generation
• Developing comprehensive system designs and detailed technical diagrams
• Calculation of power and networking requirements
• Participation in proposal reviews and contract negotiations
• Delivering compelling technical presentations to executive stakeholders
• Coordination with Systems Integration, Service, Sales, and Product Groups to align proposals with win-strategies
• Crafting strategic implementation approaches and service plans to secure project wins
• Meeting/exceeding customer requirements and providing value alternatives when needed
• Managing to Motorola's sales, revenue and margin goals
• Driving sole source & RFP projects to completion with project-team coordination
