The Weitz Company is seeking a Preconstruction Manager II for our Gig Harbor, WA team. This role leads the preconstruction phase, guiding the project team and shaping cost and schedule while advocating for owners and ensuring a smooth transition to operations.

Expect strong leadership, advanced estimating and project-management capabilities, and a deep understanding of market logistics and LEAN/BIM practices to support profitable project delivery.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of estimating and/or project management in construction.
• Experience with general contractor environments is preferred.
• Collaboration with operations, estimating and business development teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage the preconstruction process to meet client needs and company goals.
• Document and communicate progress through schematic to construction document phases.
• Develop accurate estimates, scheduling, strategy and communication.
• Monitor weekly progress, adjust schedule and flag risks.
• Understand local market logistics and impact on costs.
• Support turnover to operations and drive profitability.
• Engage with BIM/LEED/LEAN where applicable.
• Assist Business Development with RFPs and interviews.
• Foster relationships with clients, subcontractors and partners.
