The Weitz Company and Contrack Watts, Inc. are seeking a Senior Estimator to join our team in Gig Harbor, WA. This role leads preconstruction cost control and prepares comprehensive estimates across multiple projects.

Responsibilities include reviewing plans, performing quantity takeoffs, coordinating with subcontractors and suppliers, and entering data in WinEst. Ten years of estimating experience is required, with strong leadership and communication skills to guide junior staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Building Construction, or equivalent.
• Ten years of estimating responsibility required; experience with presentations and supervising staff is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Review estimates for accuracy, detail, and expectations.
• Develop scope of work, labor, and equipment costs from plans and specs.
• Prepare quantity takeoffs and pricing via self-perform or unit price estimates.
• Verify local market conditions with trades, suppliers, and government offices.
• Analyze manpower and equipment needs for self-perform operations.
• Visit sites to capture scope not shown in documents.
• Prepare bid analysis and subcontractor cost proposals for completeness.
• Enter estimate data in WinEst with breakdowns and alternates.
• Coordinate with trades to identify scope gaps and overlaps.
• Understand general conditions and contract language with the team.
• Plan safety and coordinate schedules with Operations.
