The Weitz Company is hiring a Preconstruction Manager II to lead the preconstruction process in West Palm Beach, FL. You will predict cost and schedule, advocate for owners, and transition preconstruction services to operations to set projects up for successful delivery.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of estimating and/or project management experience in construction.
• MEP background; GC experience on commercial projects (aviation, education, senior living, public works, hospitality).
• Experience partnering with operations, estimating, and business development teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the preconstruction process with focus on client needs and company goals.
• Document and communicate project progress through schematic to CD phases.
• Develop detailed estimates, schedules, strategies, and communications for preconstruction.
• Monitor progress, adjust plans to maintain schedule and manage cost risks.
• Understand local market logistics and subcontractor/supplier impacts on costs.
• Make timely decisions and assess project risk and consequences.
• Collaborate with operations, BD, and preconstruction to ensure profitable turnover.
• Support RFP processes including schedules, GC selection, score of work, and interviews.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and partners.
