Job summary

Amazon's Global Engineering Services (GES) NA Design & Construction team seeks a Senior Preconstruction Manager to lead complex industrial preconstruction projects across the region. You’ll manage site selection, design management, permitting, and contracts, delivering both tactical and strategic initiatives with a focus on safety and repeatable processes.

You will travel regionally (60%) and collaborate with Real Estate, Design Engineering, AHJ, and vendors to drive milestones, mentor junior

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 7+ years of experience as an Architect, Engineer, Construction Manager, Development Manager, Owner’s project management representative or related roles.
• 7+ years of project management experience from design through implementation and operation, including negotiating construction, procurement, and labor contracts.
• Experience within packaging, processing, or logistical facilities with complex equipment.

Responsibilities

• Autonomously manage complex pre-construction projects from site selection to contract execution.
• Coordinate with internal/external stakeholders to secure resources, set priorities and milestones, and drive delivery to meet deadlines.
• Oversee design management end-to-end, including evaluations and value engineering assessments.
• Own project budgets and oversee spend approvals; perform conceptual estimating, pricing reviews, schedule tracking, and cashflow forecasting.
• Lead external partner selection, contract negotiations, and project procurement functions.
