Job summary

Amazon’s Global Engineering Services (GES) NA Design & Construction team seeks a Senior Preconstruction Manager to act as the senior owner during preconstruction. You will autonomously manage cross-functional industrial projects from site selection through design, permitting, and contract execution for new builds, retrofits, and expansions across your region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree.
• 7+ years of experience as Architect, Engineer, Construction Manager, Development Manager, Owner’s project management representative or related.
• 7+ years of project management experience from design through implementation and operation.

Responsibilities

• Autonomously manage cross-functional industrial pre-construction projects from site selection through design completion, permitting, and contract execution.
• Oversee design management end-to-end, including design evaluations, conformance reviews, and value engineering assessments.
• Own project budgets and oversee spend approvals; perform conceptual estimating, pricing reviews, schedule tracking, and cashflow forecasting.
• Lead external partner selection, contract negotiations, and project procurement functions.
• Coordinate with AHJ for permitting, regulatory compliance, and approvals; understand and apply building code requirements.
• Monitor project performance metrics, anticipate roadblocks and risks, manage escalations, and drive corrective actions.
