Job summary

Amazon's Global Engineering Services (GES) North America Design & Construction team seeks a Senior Preconstruction Manager to be the senior owner's representative during the preconstruction phase of facility delivery.

You will autonomously manage complex cross-functional projects from site selection and design management through permitting and contracting for new builds, retrofits, expansions, and program initiatives across your region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 7+ years of project management experience from design through operation, including negotiating contracts.
• Experience within packaging, processing, or logistical facilities with complex equipment.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams and coordinating with real estate, design, permitting, and construction stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Autonomously manage complex pre-construction projects from site selection through design completion and contract execution.
• Coordinate with Real Estate, Design Engineering, Entitlements, Construction, Finance, and external partners to secure resources and set milestones.
• Oversee design management end-to-end, including evaluations and value engineering.
• Manage project budgets, approvals, pricing reviews, schedules, and cashflow forecasting.
• Lead external partner selection, contract negotiations, and procurement functions.
• Ensure regulatory compliance with AHJ, zoning, fire and building codes.
