This on-site role requires deep welding automation experience, pre-sales skills, and the ability to translate customer prints into feasible automation concepts. You will lead technical feasibility, architect automated welding cells (GMAW/GTAW), develop compelling proposals with layouts and BOMs, and travel to customer facilities as needed.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of welding automation experience or robotic systems integration in a pre-sales context.
• Solid understanding of GMAW/MIG, GTAW/TIG, and how materials impact feasibility.
• Proficiency reviewing/drafting cell layouts with 2D/3D CAD tools.
• Professional, client-facing communication with engineering teams and leadership.
• US Citizenship or Green Card holder residing within ~45 minutes of Pewaukee, WI.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical feasibility as the primary pre-sales contact, reviewing parts and drawings to assess weld feasibility.
• Architect welding automation concepts: processes, power sources, tooling, and cell layouts for FANUC/ABB.
• Develop technical proposals with layouts, cycle-time estimates, labor hours, and BOMs.
• Coordinate weld sample evaluations, process trials, and feasibility testing for customer proposals.
• Travel to customer sites (~15% domestically/internationally) to gather requirements and present solutions.
• Ensure weld processes comply with AWS D1.1, ASME IX and customer specs.
