Job summary

CareerNerds, LLC seeks a Pre-Sales Applications Engineer specializing in robotic welding and automated systems in the Pewaukee, WI area. This on-site role focuses on evaluating prints, designing cell concepts, and delivering compelling technical proposals for high-value automation projects.

You will partner with Sales and Engineering to drive feasibility studies, select processes, and lead demonstrations, with travel as needed and a direct-hire path.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in welding automation or robotic pre-sales engineering.
• Solid understanding of GMAW/GTAW welding processes.
• Experience drafting conceptual cell layouts and BOM development.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical feasibility reviews of customer parts and prints for weld feasibility.
• Architect robotic welding cell concepts and specify processes and tooling.
• Develop technical proposals with layouts, cycle times, and labor estimates.
• Coordinate weld sample evaluations and feasibility testing with teams.
• Travel to customer sites (~15%) to gather requirements and present solutions.
• Ensure weld processes meet AWS D1.1 and ASME IX standards.
