Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking a Pre-construction Manager to lead the SBU's pre-construction activities and oversee estimating, budgeting, and planning support. The role requires coordinating with marketing, procurement, and client relations to drive profitable project opportunities.

The successful candidate will supervise estimating and business development personnel, ensure cost history is used for pricing, and foster a culture of integrity and safety in all bids and proposals.

Qualifications

• BS in Construction Management, Marketing and/or Communication or related field or equivalent.
• Minimum of 6 years estimating commercial/industrial construction, including hard-bid, design-build, and conceptual estimating.
• Ability to read and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and government regulations.
• Proficient computer skills including email, record keeping, databases, word processing, spreadsheets.

Responsibilities

• Lead estimating and planning support personnel.
• Monitor budgets and buy-out processes to provide reliable estimates.
• Coordinate with marketing to ensure brand and information alignment.
• Oversee sales activities, procurement strategies, RFQs, SOQs and RFPs.
