Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking a Senior Estimator to lead and assist in compiling accurate project estimates across multiple sectors. The role emphasizes cost accuracy, proactive communication with Owners, and professionalism in the estimating process.

The Senior Estimator will work with the Chief Estimator or SBU Executive, guide preconstruction efforts, perform quantity take-offs, and coordinate with architects, subcontractors and suppliers to prepare bids and schedules for review.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction-related field or equivalent education and experience.
• 5+ years' experience in estimating commercial construction projects.
• Knowledge of all construction systems and disciplines to complete comprehensive cost estimates.
• Experience in estimating at all design stages: conceptual, schematic, design development and construction documents.
• Proficiency with Destini Estimator, BlueBeam, Assemble, Revit and Primavera.

Responsibilities

• Prepares estimates and supplementary information for potential projects.
• Reads, understands, and improves contract documents; offers value-engineering and life-cycle cost options.
• Performs quantity take-offs, organizes, prices, and analyzes information.
• Works with Architects and Owners and leads in the preconstruction process.
• Solicits bids and quotes from subcontractors and suppliers and maintains contacts.
• Attends Owner meetings during estimate development and prepares detailed schedules for proposed projects.
