Job summary

Thrivent Financial for Lutherans seeks a senior leader to drive enterprise-wide practice management, coaching, and succession with advisors and teams. The Lead Practice Growth Director will serve as a player-coach, guiding scalable growth strategies and mentoring other directors to deliver exceptional advisor outcomes and client experiences.

This role partners with field leadership and Centers of Excellence, focusing on teaming, succession readiness, and sustainable advisor practices management

Qualifications

• Five years of experience coaching financial advisors or equivalent.
• Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop peer leaders.
• Deep expertise in practice management, including client service models, teaming, staffing, succession planning, and revenue-sharing structures.
• Proficiency in Salesforce, Power BI, and organizational tools with ability to model and promote usage.
• Ability to present to and facilitate large and small groups, driving advisor adoption.
• Professional designations or progress toward achievement preferred.
• FINRA Series 7 and 63/65 or 66 required or obtained within 90 days.
• State insurance licenses in life, health, and variable lines or obtained within 90 days.
• State securities registrations and licenses across the assigned region.
• Satisfactory background check and clean compliance record.
• Willingness to travel, including overnight stays.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor Practice Growth Directors; develop scalable growth strategies.
• Coach and develop teams; provide hands-on mentorship and development.
• Drive growth in advisor sales, productivity, and teaming; improve capacity.
• Partner with leadership to embed growth strategies into local business plans.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure program adoption and consistency.
• Support advisor retention, recruiting, and capacity expansion.
• Assist recruiting and sustaining high-performing teams with accountability culture.
