Job summary

Thrivent Financial seeks a Market Director to lead advisor teams in Grand Rapids, attracting and onboarding top talent while developing future leaders. The role strengthens local relationships, expands Thrivent’s client base, and positions Thrivent as a trusted market leader.

You will drive recruitment pipelines, coach advisors on Thrivent’s planning tools, and collaborate with leadership to foster growth and a culture of excellence across the market.

Qualifications

• Four-year college degree strongly preferred.
• 5+ years in financial services attracting and hiring new talent preferred.
• Experience attracting, selecting, and developing financial advisors.
• Experience hiring financial advisors on teams.
• Licensing: FINRA Series 7, 63/65 or 66 within 90 days; state life/health/variable licenses; securities registrations.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% and conduct business during evenings.

Responsibilities

• Attract and retain talent by building relationships and leveraging networks to source candidates for all channels.
• Develop and launch financial advisors by modeling Thrivent’s advice process and providing launch support.
• Market management and culture: build a strong market culture with leaders and matrix partners.
• Monitor budgets and collaborate with matrix partners for investments in the area.
• Engage matrix partners to leverage expertise for business processes and systems.
