Job summary

RESA Power, LLC seeks experienced Field Tech/Power Systems Technicians in San Diego to perform service, test and maintenance on power transmission and distribution equipment up to 500kV. Responsibilities include installation, commissioning, relay testing, data collection, and on-call response while maintaining strict safety standards.

The role requires knowledge of NETA/NEC/OSHA/NFPA, problem solving skills, and strong communication. Valid driver's license and willingness to travel are needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED with 1+ year related experience for Field Tech
• NETA, NEC, OSHA and NFPA standards knowledge preferred
• Experience with MCCs, breakers, relay testing, infrared, and high voltage start-up
• Ability to work safely and communicate effectively with customers

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test and maintain low to high voltage equipment up to 500kV
• Install and commission protective relaying equipment and protective gear
• Develop and document commissioning and testing procedures for relay systems
• Perform functional testing of substation control circuits
• Create relay macros and testing routines
• Execute end-to-end relay testing with specialized software
• Review relay settings and logic for design alignment
• Operate high voltage test equipment and respond to emergencies on-call
• Follow regulatory safety laws and cooperate with team
