Job summary

RESA Power, LLC. is seeking a Service Field Tech with expertise in power systems testing and maintenance. The role involves testing, start-up, and data collection for various HV equipment and protective relaying systems, along with on-site commissioning and repair work.

You will develop procedures, perform functional tests on substation control circuits, and create testing routines to verify protection schemes. Candidates should have safety-oriented problem solving and solid communication skills.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required with 1+ year related field experience.
• Familiarity with NETA, NEC, OSHA and NFPA standards preferred.
• Strong safety practices and problem solving skills required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, troubleshoot and start-up low, medium and high voltage systems up to 500 kV.
• Install, commission and maintain protective relaying equipment and transformers.
• Develop standardized commissioning, testing, and maintenance procedures for relay systems.
• Perform functional testing of substation control circuits to validate relay operation.
• Create relay macros and testing routines to confirm system protection and control configurations.
• Execute end-to-end relay testing with specialized software and analyze fault conditions.
• Review relay settings and logic to ensure alignment with design requirements.
• Rotate emergency on-call duties and respond to customer emergencies when needed.
• All work conducted in compliance with regulatory requirements.
