Job summary

Forgent Power Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Sr. Field Service Engineer to lead complex field service, commissioning, and modernization work on low- and medium-voltage power systems.

You will supervise on-site teams, mentor technicians, and oversee safety, quality, and scheduling across transformer and protection/control projects. Qualifications

• 11+ years of field experience with MV/HV switchgear and protection/control systems or equivalent combination of degree + experience.
• Ability to lead field crews and manage on-site execution for complex commissioning and service events.
• Strong knowledge of electrical safety practices (NFPA 70E/OSHA) including LOTO and arc-flash controls.
• Experience reading and redlining schematics, wiring diagrams, and one-line diagrams.
• Authority in transformer field testing and condition assessment, incl. DGA and IEEE C57 criteria.

Responsibilities

• Lead commissioning and startup of complete electrical systems, including acceptance testing.
• Serve as primary technical escalation point for advanced control and protection issues.
• Plan and perform advanced diagnostics for equipment and protection/control problems.
• Direct transformer diagnostics, commissioning, and acceptance testing for substations.
• Lead field teams, coordinate testing, and ensure safety and quality during outages.
