Job summary

Forgent Power Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Sr. Field Service Engineer to act as the technical authority for complex field service, commissioning, and modernization on MV/HV power systems.

The role requires on-site leadership, mentoring of technicians, and driving safe, high-quality execution across projects. You will lead transformer condition assessments, development of test plans, and direct field teams during outages and installations, while interfacing with customers and project teams to

Qualifications

• 11+ years field experience with MV/HV switchgear and protection/control systems.
• Ability to lead field crews and manage on-site execution for complex commissioning.
• Strong knowledge of electrical safety practices (NFPA 70E/OSHA).
• Proven ability to read, troubleshoot, and redline schematics and diagrams.
• Experience with transformer testing and condition assessment.

Responsibilities

• Lead commissioning and startup of complete electrical systems and verify performance.
• Serve as primary technical escalation point for protection and integration issues.
• Plan and perform advanced diagnostics for equipment and control issues.
• Execute protection relay commissioning and end-to-end verification.
• Direct testing activities and manage multiple field crews and contractors.
• Mentor Field Service Engineers and technicians at multiple levels.
• Lead transformer diagnostics and system modernization projects.
• Ensure safety leadership and compliance during outages and maintenance.
