Job summary

Eaton Corporation in San Diego seeks a Power Systems Controls Engineer for the EESS team to design, test, and implement PLC and HMI software for power transfer applications.

Join a hybrid role with field start-ups, factory testing, BOM creation, and collaboration with Electrical Designers to deliver complete power automation solutions.

A engineering degree and substantial experience in power distribution controls are required, with a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with at least 7 years of power distribution controls experience, or Master’s degree with at least 5 years, or 10 years total.
• Driver’s license required with a clean MVR; pass motor vehicle record check upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Create, modify, test, and deploy software for PLCs and HMIs for Power Transfer applications.
• Follow customers specifications and internal specs for project implementation.
• Select components and create bill of materials.
• Provide sketches, mark-ups, and direction to Electrical Designers for project drawings.
• Prepare customer submittals, Sequence of Operation (SOO), and test procedures.
• Assist with factory testing and field start-ups as required.
• Troubleshoot systems that are not functioning properly.
