Job summary

Eaton is seeking an Electrical Controls Engineer to join the EESS team in Chandler, AZ. You will develop, test, and deploy PLC and HMI software for power transfer applications and collaborate closely with electrical designers to meet customer specifications.

The role requires strong experience in power distribution controls, familiarity with Modbus/DNP3/IEC-61850, and a valid driver’s license. Overtime is paid, and a company vehicle is provided where applicable.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with minimum 7 years of power distribution controls experience OR Master’s degree with at least 5 years experience OR 10+ years of power distribution controls experience.
This role requires a current, unrestricted driver’s license and a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record; driver’s license check on hire.

Responsibilities

Create, modify, test, and deploy software for PLCs and HMIs for Power Transfer applications.
Follow customer specifications and internal specs for project implementation.
Select components and create bill of materials.
Provide sketches and direction to Electrical Designers for project drawings.
Prepare submittals, SOO, and test procedures.
Assist with factory testing and field start-ups.
Troubleshoot systems that are not functioning properly.
