Job summary

MeshGrid HR is seeking a Senior Business Development Manager to drive growth across North America's power systems business unit. The role is remote (US or Canada) with up to 50% travel, initially focusing on grid stability solutions with potential expansion into hydropower and related technologies.

You will lead complex commercial pursuits, develop strategic customer relationships, and manage opportunities from initial engagement through contract award, with significant autonomy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Business, or related field.
• 8+ years in BD, technical sales, or commercial project development in power industry.
• Proven success securing large, complex engineered electrical projects.
• Strong knowledge of NA power markets, utility procurement, electrical infra.
• Experience leading commercial negotiations, proposals and long-cycle sales.
• Ability to evaluate technical requirements, economics, risks.
• Strong relationships, communication, negotiation, and strategic planning.
• Experience with cross-functional technical and commercial teams.
• Proficiency in CRM, pipeline management, and sales forecasting.

Responsibilities

• Identify and develop opportunities in synchronous condensers, hydropower, and power infra.
• Build relationships with utilities, developers, EPCs, engineers.
• Develop strategic account plans and growth initiatives across North America.
• Lead complex project pursuits from qualification to contract.
• Collaborate with engineering, tendering, finance, legal, and execution teams.
• Evaluate requirements, risks, pricing, and contractual obligations.
• Manage negotiations on pricing, warranties, terms, and schedules.
• Maintain sales forecasts, CRM records, and opportunity pipelines.
• Coordinate handovers to project execution and maintain post-contract relationships.
• Represent the organization at meetings and industry events.
