Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking a Sr Systems Architect to lead the development of integrated power generation architectures from generators to interconnection facilities. You will steer cross-functional teams, translate customer needs into actionable requirements, and oversee validation, testing, and commissioning milestones.

The role requires extensive experience in utility-scale power, system requirements management, and MBSE-based practices, with a focus on reliability, availability, and performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field.
• 12+ years in power generation, utility systems, EPC, or related electrical infrastructure.
• 7+ years engineering with at least 3 years leading multidisciplinary teams.
• 5+ years presenting technical solutions to executives and stakeholders.
• 5+ years managing complex technical initiatives with large-scale projects.
• 7+ years with utility-scale power generation, transmission and grid interconnection.
• 5+ years of experience with system requirements, interface control, and V&V processes.
• 5+ years applying IEEE, ANSI, IEC, NERC, FERC, NFPA standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop and govern integrated power generation system architectures from terminals through transmission facilities.
• Lead integration of inside-the-fence-line assets including turbines, transformers, HV/LV gear, substations, protection systems, BESS, and auxiliary plants.
• Establish system requirements, baselines, interfaces, and design standards for complex projects.
• Define solution validation strategies, verification plans, FAT/SAT, commissioning milestones, and performance criteria.
• Coordinate engineering disciplines to maximize uptime, resilience, maintainability, and performance.
• Review power system studies (load flow, short circuit, protection coordination, stability, harmonics, arc flash).
• Translate customer requirements into architecture and design requirements.
• Lead risk identification, interface management, and integration planning across project phases.
