Job summary

GE Vernova, Inc. is seeking a senior Systems Engineer to develop and govern integrated power generation system architectures, coordinating across gas turbines, transformers, substations, and protection systems.

You will lead technical definitions, verification plans, FAT/SAT, and commissioning milestones to ensure performance and reliability. The role requires extensive leadership experience, travel up to 25%, and a track record delivering high-value solutions for complex energy projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Power/Systems Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years in engineering with at least 3 years in leadership overseeing multidisciplinary teams.
• 5+ years presenting technical solutions to executives, utility reps, and regulators.
• 7+ years experience with utility-scale power systems and grid interconnection requirements.
• 5+ years managing system requirements, interfaces, and V&V processes.

Responsibilities

• Develop and govern integrated power generation system architectures.
• Lead integration of inside-the-fence-line assets including GSUs, HV/LV gear, substations, and protection systems.
• Establish system requirements, baselines, interface definitions and design standards.
• Define validation strategies from FAT/SAT to commissioning and performance validation.
• Coordinate cross-disciplinary efforts to ensure uptime and reliability.
• Review power system studies (load flow, short circuit, protection) for architecture performance.
• Translate customer requirements into electrical system design requirements.
• Lead risk identification, interface management, and integration planning throughout lifecycle.
• Serve as primary technical coordinator across GE Vernova businesses and external partners.
