Job summary

GE Vernova in Houston seeks a Senior Reliability Engineer to shape the next generation of power, wind, and electrification solutions. You will lead reliability modeling, system integration studies, and cross‑functional collaboration with engineering, sales, and product development teams.

You will translate customer reliability demands into actionable design inputs, perform MTBF and SLA analyses, and drive reference architectures across projects to ensure consistent best practices in power

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
• 12+ years in engineering, reliability, or related function.
• 5+ years leading teams delivering high‑value technical/strategic solutions.
• 5+ years presenting to C‑suite/executive leadership.
• 5+ years managing complex engineering or policy initiatives with multiple major projects.
• 5+ years analyzing government structures, energy policy, and power market mechanics.
• 5+ years with inside‑the‑fence power generation technologies (gas gens, BESS, STATCOMs, HV/LV gear, fuel cells).
• 3+ years performing formal reliability studies (FMECA, RCA, FTA, RAM).
• 3+ years using BlockSim for reliability modeling (MAPS/MARS preferred).
• Willingness to travel 25%+.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate design power generation architectures with focus on performance and reliability.
• Develop and maintain reliability models using BlockSIM.
• Lead equipment coordination modeling for uptime and resilience.
• Translate availability and MTBF into electrical configuration and protection requirements.
• Support LCOE and reliability targets; translate goals into design inputs.
• Perform reliability-centered simulations for derisking integration.
• Lead onsite generation report definition and customer meetings.
• Coordinate cross‑functional efforts for power system studies.
• Support engineering and sales teams to grow GE Vernova’s power systems capabilities.
• Interpret reliability studies to inform system design and optimization.
