Job summary
Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to perform protection system calculations and develop relay settings for HV/EHV substation projects. The role involves working with generators, transformers, and LV/MV protection, while ensuring NERC PRC compliance.
This position supports a hybrid work schedule with on-site collaboration and remote work flexibility. Ideal candidates hold a power systems focused Electrical Engineering degree (Master's/PhD preferred) and 7+ years of relevant
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with power systems focus; advanced degree preferred.
- 7+ years of power system protection experience.
- Experience with microprocessor relays (SEL, Beckwith, GE, ABB).
- Experience with relay software (SEL AcSELerator, GE Enervista).
- Experience with HV/EHV substations and LV/MV protection studies.
Responsibilities
- Perform protection system calculations for diverse clients.
- Develop relay settings for HV/EHV substations, transmissions, generators, transformers and motors.
- Assist clients in complying with NERC PRC standards.
- Perform relaying event report analysis.
- Lead or participate in automation and AI-enabled workflows when appropriate.
