Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a lead electrical engineer specializing in protection systems. The role involves performing protection calculations, developing relay settings for HV/EHV assets, and ensuring compliance with NERC PRC standards.

Candidates should have extensive power systems experience and familiarity with protection software. The position offers a hybrid/flexible work schedule with on-site office presence and remote work.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with power systems focus; advanced degree preferred.
12+ years in power system protection engineering.
Experience with microprocessor relays (SEL, Beckwith, GE, ABB) and relay software.
Familiarity with HV/EHV substation/line relaying and LV breaker protection.

Responsibilities

Perform protection system calculations and analyses for clients.
Develop relay settings for HV/EHV substations and transmission lines.
Create relay settings for generators, transformers, motors, and protection devices.
Assist clients in complying with NERC PRC standards.
Perform relaying event report analysis.
