Job summary

HDR is seeking a Power Program Manager to lead planning and execution of power sector programs. You will guide multidisciplinary teams of engineers and specialists, serve as a trusted advisor to client leadership, and own delivery strategies across transmission, distribution, generation, and renewables.

The role requires strong leadership, clear communication with executives, and experience with PMIS tools and risk management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or closely related field.
• Experience managing programs with large capital value.
• Strong leadership and cross-location team experience.
• Experience with PMIS, CMIS, scheduling and risk management.

Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary teams to deliver power transmission, distribution, generation, and renewables projects.
• Serve as primary client contact for scope, contracts, program performance and staffing.
• Advise clients on technical, regulatory, strategic planning, and delivery strategies.
• Direct and manage HDR staff and sub-consultants across engineering, controls, routing, environmental, and more.
• Assess staffing needs and secure resources to meet contract scope and performance.
• Facilitate risk workshops and develop risk management plans.
• Develop program management plans, processes, and tools to boost efficiency.
• Monitor scope, schedule, and budget with project controls and adjust to meet targets.
• Prepare monthly program reports or dashboards for stakeholders.
• Collaborate with business development to identify growth opportunities.
• Support proposals with project approach, staffing, fees, and schedule.
• Travel on average 25% of the time.
