Job summary

Arcadis is seeking a Sr. Power System Planning & Study Engineer to join the Power Delivery team in the USA. You will coordinate and perform studies such as load-flow, short-circuit, and transient stability analyses for North American clients and global projects. Travel up to 25% and collaboration with multiple Arcadis units are expected.

The role requires a strong team orientation, experience with PSS/E/PSCAD, and knowledge of major US and NA markets (PJM, MISO, CAISO, ERCOT, IESO, etc.).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required; Master’s degree preferred.
• 8+ years direct experience in power system study/planning.
• Proficient with PSS/E, PSCAD; experience with PSLF, DigSILENT, or DSA Tools desirable.
• Familiar with NA market operators (MISO, PJM, NE-ISO, NY-ISO, CAISO, ERCOT, AESO, IESO) policies and interconnection rules.

Responsibilities

• Support and deliver complex power system study & planning projects for various clients.
• Perform load-flow, short-circuit, transient stability, electromagnetic transient analyses.
• Conduct planning and transient studies to meet standards and good engineering practice.
• Deliver thorough reports and client deliverables with high constructability and QA.
• Coordinate with Arcadis teams and other units for cross-selling and staffing opportunities.
• Develop project scopes, budgets, and proposals; manage client communications.
