Job summary

JE Dunn Construction seeks a General Superintendent – Power to provide field leadership for natural gas and thermal power generation projects, ensuring safe, high‑quality, and efficient delivery across all construction phases.

The role requires deep knowledge of power‑sector construction, coordinating subcontractors, equipment, and rigorous safety protocols, while mentoring field teams to meet schedule, budget, and performance goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering or related field.
• 12+ years construction experience.
• 10+ years field supervision experience.
• Experience leading Lean principles on projects (Preferred).
• Experience coordinating startup and commissioning activities for complex mechanical/electrical systems.
• Proven leadership on projects involving large-scale rigging operations, heavy mechanical installations, and high-energy systems.
• Experience implementing advanced safety protocols specific to power-plant environments.

Responsibilities

• Leads all aspects of safety culture and injury-free environment; mentors staff.
• Communicates project information to owners, design team, authorities, subcontractors, suppliers.
• Manages project documentation, logs, and inspection notebooks.
• Oversees procurement processes and formwork/tools selection for self-perform operations.
• Gains understanding of project pursuit and preconstruction planning.
• Leads field staffing for assigned project and coordinates schedule/cost changes.
• Supports project closeouts with owner/architect/governing authority coordination.
