Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an avionics hardware engineer to design and own analog and mixed-signal circuit boards for spacecraft systems in the Lunar Permanence unit. You will handle the lifecycle from concept through production, including design reviews, testing, and risk analyses.

The role emphasizes hands-on development, collaboration, and mission assurance with opportunities to influence controller roadmaps and hardware architecture in a safety-conscious culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
• Experience with analog, or mixed-signal circuit design, including analysis, simulation, test, troubleshooting, and part selection.
• Knowledge of signal integrity, power, grounding, and general board layout principles.

Responsibilities

• Develop, lead, and own analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuit avionic designs that interact with avionics systems.
• Own these avionics boards across the entire product life cycle, from concept and requirements definition, design, analysis, prototyping, schematic capture, layout, design review, test/verification and through release to production.
• Support avionics architecture trade studies, analyses, performance characterization and specification, device selection, and controller roadmap direction.
• Support controller risk analyses, FMECA, worst case circuit analyses, design for test/manufacture/cost, and root-cause analysis of test discrepancies.
• Participate in program level technology development, mission assurance and safety initiatives, and avionics development process improvements.
• Effectively communicate development status, risks, and challenges to management.
