Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is seeking an experienced avionics engineer to lead the design of digital, analog, and mixed-signal circuits for spacecraft avionics systems. You will own boards end-to-end—from concept and requirements to qualification, testing, and production release—participating in architecture trade studies and risk analyses.

You will work hands-on across development and production phases, collaborating with a team to advance spaceflight capabilities, with travel to other Blue Origin

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related discipline.
  • Breadth of understanding in electronics hardware development for complex circuit cards or aerospace products.
  • Experience with analog or mixed-signal design including analysis, simulation, testing, troubleshooting, and part selection.
  • Knowledge of signal integrity, power, grounding, and board layout principles.
  • Familiar with MCUs, FPGAs, ADCs, DACs, Op Amps, power supplies, memory, and MOSFETs.
  • Knowledge of RS232, RS422, I2C, SPI, LVDS, Ethernet, CAN, or PCIe.
  • Desire to work hands-on throughout development and production lifecycles.
  • Ability to earn trust and collaborate in a team culture.
  • Willingness to travel 10% to other Blue Origin locations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, lead, and own digital, analog, and mixed-signal avionic designs.
  • Own avionics boards across the product life cycle from concept to production release.
  • Support avionics architecture trade studies, performance characterization, and component selection.
  • Support risk analyses, FMECA, WCCA, DFx, and root-cause analysis of test discrepancies.
  • Participate in technology development, mission assurance, and process improvements.
  • Communicate development status, risks, and challenges to management.
