Job summary

Blue Origin seeks a skilled avionics engineer to design and own digital, analog, and mixed-signal boards for lunar and spaceflight systems. You will guide concepts through production, perform analyses, and lead design reviews with cross-functional teams.

Desirable candidates have 7+ years in avionics, space hardware experience, and hands-on PCB work. Expect travel and close collaboration with safety and mission assurance teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field.
  • Broad electronics hardware development experience across complex boards and aerospace or consumer products.
  • Experience in analog or mixed-signal design including testing and part selection.
  • Knowledge of signal integrity, power, grounding and board layout basics.
  • Familiar with microcontrollers, FPGAs, ADCs/DACs, op-amps, power supplies, memory, and MOSFETs.
  • Understanding common comms like RS232/422, I2C, SPI, LVDS, Ethernet, CAN, PCIe.
  • Hands-on, self-motivated, able to work in teams and travel as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, lead, and own digital, analog, and mixed-signal avionics designs.
  • Own avionics boards through full product life cycle from concept to production.
  • Support architecture trade studies, performance characterization, and component selection.
  • Support DFx, FMECA/WCCA analyses, and root-cause investigations of test discrepancies.
  • Contribute to technology development, safety initiatives, and process improvements.
  • Communicate status, risks, and challenges clearly to management.
