Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an avionics hardware engineer to own the architecture and development of avionics boards and assemblies. You will participate in all phases from concept through production release, interfacing with sensors, actuators, and flight hardware, with emphasis on reliability and safety.

The role requires hands-on experience with analog/digital/mixed-signal boards, rigorous testing, and collaboration across teams to meet mission requirements for spaceflight hardware.

Qualifications

• Undergrad degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related field with 5+ years of electronics hardware development experience.
• Direct hands-on experience with analog, digital and mixed-signal circuit analysis, design and testing.
• Experience with designing high-reliability aerospace boards and hardware.
• Familiarity with IPC standards and NASA-STD-8739.n or similar.
• Strong written and verbal technical communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop avionics hardware (boards and integrated assemblies) across full life-cycle.
• Design analog and digital boards interacting with sensors and actuators; include schematic capture, layout, testing and release.
• Support architecture trades studies, performance characterization and component selection.
• Support FMECA, DFx, and root-cause analysis for test discrepancies.
• Contribute to program-level technology development and safety initiatives.
