Raytheon in Huntsville, AL seeks a Senior Power Design Engineer to lead power converter design within the System Power, Analog and Controls Department. The role emphasizes design, analysis, simulation, and testing of non-isolated and potentially isolated converters, with emphasis on electronics fundamentals.

Required are a STEM degree and 5+ years of design/analysis experience; security clearance (DoD Secret) is required.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in design, analysis, simulation, and/or test experience with linear converters.
• Experience with non-isolated converter topologies: buck, boost, buck-boost.
• Experience with analog electronics including FET, BJT, and/or op-amp circuits.

Responsibilities

• Design, analyze (including thermal considerations), simulate, and test power conversion circuitry (buck, boost, buck-boost).
• Guide ECAD personnel through PCB layout and technical drawing creation.
• Perform design work within schedule constraints.
• Present technical data reviews to program leadership and staff.
