Job summary

RTX in Huntsville, AL seeks a Senior Principal Power Design Engineer to lead power electronics design within the System Power, Analog and Controls Department. You will design, analyze, simulate, and test power converters for defense programs, and guide ECAD layout and drawings.

This onsite role requires a DoD Secret clearance, 10+ years of experience in analog design and non-isolated converter topologies, and a proven ability to deliver on strict schedules while collaborating across disciplines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
• 10+ years of prior relevant experience in design, analysis, simulation, and/or test of power electronics.
• Experience with non-isolated converter topologies: buck, boost, buck-boost.
• Experience with analog electronics design and analysis (FET, BJT, op-amps).
• Familiarity with EMI concerns and high-voltage power electronics.

Responsibilities

• Design, analyze (including thermal considerations), simulate, and test power conversion circuitry using standard non-isolated topologies.
• Guide ECAD personnel through PWB layout of power circuitry and technical drawing creation.
• Perform design work within project schedules.
• Present reviews of technical data to program leadership and technical staff.
