Job summary

WSP USA seeks a Distribution Project Manager for the Power & Energy Program Management Team in Fort Worth and the Dallas, TX Metroplex region, with hybrid work requiring three days per week in the Fort Worth office.

The role involves leading delivery of Power Delivery distribution projects, coordinating engineering, controls, procurement, and construction, and guiding teams to meet scope, schedule, budget, and quality targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Business, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
• 10+ years of post-education experience with project management responsibility in Power Delivery, transmission, substation, or related infrastructure.
• Experience managing medium to large transmission line/substation projects for electric utility clients.
• Ability to lead multiple concurrent projects and manage scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk, and client satisfaction.
• Advanced understanding of utility project delivery including engineering, procurement, permitting, construction, and reporting.
• Proficiency with project controls: CPM scheduling, cost forecasting, earned value, change/risk management, invoicing, and financials.
• Experience developing governance tools and documentation (execution plans, risk registers, logs, QA/QC).
• Ability to manage client relationships at senior levels and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Establish and implement program delivery plans aligned with client expectations.
• Serve as primary accountability for project delivery, escalate risks, and ensure contractual alignment.
• Lead client engagement and relationship development through proactive communication and issue resolution.
• Direct multidisciplinary teams including engineering, controls, procurement, construction, environmental, and vendors.
• Oversee governance frameworks, delivery standards, and escalation procedures.
• Ensure integration of scope, schedule, budget, risk, and quality across the program.
• Analyze project performance metrics and lead root-cause analyses for delays or cost overruns.
• Support senior engagement with clients and external partners.
• Coordinate interdependencies across multiple projects to ensure coherent delivery.
• Develop risk and opportunity management frameworks across the program lifecycle.
• Contribute to contract negotiations, change orders, and claims mitigation.
• Mentor project managers and team members to ensure consistent delivery.
