Job summary

WSP is seeking a Power Delivery Project Manager to lead high voltage substation and transmission line engineering programs in Texas. The role emphasizes managing schedules, budgets, quality, and client relationships while marketing WSP’s power delivery services.

The position allows remote work with hybrid on-site collaboration from Houston, Austin, or Fort Worth, and requires travel to client sites as needed. A strong PM background in Power Delivery is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field within Power & Energy
• 12+ years of post-education project management experience in Power Delivery/Utility
• 5+ years leading engineering/construction teams for HV/EHV substation or transmission projects
• Strong knowledge of PM processes and tools including contract, risk, schedule, and cost management
• Proficiency with MS Office and PM tools (e.g., Primavera/P6)
• Ability to travel as required and work across multiple Texas locations

Responsibilities

• Provide PM leadership for HV/EHV substation and transmission line projects, overseeing design, budgets, forecasts, margins, and KPIs
• Develop stakeholder engagement strategies and report progress to clients
• Lead pursuit decisions, contract reviews, risk mitigation, and pricing discussions
• Participate in contract negotiations and client presentations as needed
• Drive technical reviews and ensure QA/QC adherence across project teams
• Provide strategic inputs to multi-disciplinary teams and advise clients
• Manage and mentor assigned staff and coordinate resource planning
• Maintain project documents (RMP, PMP, QP, PSP, Communications Plan)
• Lead project kick-off meetings and coordinate with managers for resourcing
• Maintain monthly client communications and reporting on scope, budget, and issues
• Oversee problem reviews and develop recovery plans
• Ensure regular project reporting to clients and internal stakeholders
• Complete closeout activities and document lessons learned
• Collaborate across disciplines for future-ready solutions and ethical use of resources
• Travel as required by client and project needs
