Job summary
RTX in North Texas seeks a Principal Power & Analog Design Engineer to join the MPD team. The role is onsite in McKinney, TX, focusing on advanced power electronics for sensor and effector products.
You will work with multidisciplinary teams to define requirements, develop architectures, perform detailed design and verification, and support product lifecycle management. You will lead design reviews, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to roadmaps while ensuring tight integration with ECAD,
Qualifications
- Degree in STEM with 8+ years of relevant experience.
- Experience with linear converters and non-isolated converter topologies (buck/boost).
- Experience with isolated topologies (flyback/forward, etc.).
- EMI filter design and power electronics considerations.
- ECAD/layout CAD tools usage.
- MATLAB or similar tools for design and analysis.
Responsibilities
- Drive requirements decomposition.
- Lead architecture definition at card/sub-system level.
- Develop power converter specifications and designs.
- Lead design, analysis, testing, and documentation of analog/power circuitry.
- Coordinate with ECAD drafters for layout and routing.
- Plan and execute integration and verification activities.
- Provide test support and root-cause investigations.
- Lead projects with budget and schedule discipline.
