Job summary

Baxter & Woodman Inc is seeking a Potable Water Design Project Manager to lead water treatment plant design projects and studies in Illinois, with opportunities to grow business and serve clients in the region.

You will manage project teams, review scopes and fees, and ensure successful project delivery while building strong client relationships. The role requires leadership, collaboration, and a passion for water infrastructure excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Registered Professional Engineer in Illinois.
• 6+ years of potable water design experience, including water treatment, storage, and supply design.
• 2+ years managing multidisciplinary potable water design projects.
• Active involvement in professional/technical societies.

Responsibilities

• Assist Marketing in proposals: project plan, staff, fees, risk assessment.
• Review draft agreements and approve scope and fee.
• Build teams and allocate staff to projects by skill and availability.
• Monitor project performance: client satisfaction, schedule, budget, billings, QA/QC.
• Develop department standards and perform quality control reviews.
• Lead staff development and determine project staffing and goals.
• Plan and coordinate successful project completion.
• Lead single and multi-disciplinary projects.
• Represent the company in client/agency meetings to plan and coordinate work.
• Coordinate and communicate with peers and management.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to team members.
• Develop and grow client relationships and business opportunities.
