Hartford Steam Boiler (HSB), a Munich Re subsidiary in the U.S., seeks a Senior Portfolio Underwriter to manage, optimize, and grow its largest client relationships across multiple locations including Hartford, Boston, Chicago, Des Moines, Jersey City, Philadelphia and White Plains.

The role requires leadership in data-driven underwriting, rate development, and loss-trend analysis, with binding authority to drive profitable outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience is required.
• 7+ years of P&C insurance/reinsurance experience.
• 5+ years in Underwriting preferred.
• Ability to translate large data analysis into actionable decisions.
• Experience with rate development, price segmentation & loss trend analysis.

Responsibilities

• Oversee portfolio products for key client relationships and drive profit targets.
• Collaborate with Product Managers and Underwriting Lead to optimize performance.
• Present financial results, data analyses, and rate assessments to clients.
• Make binding underwriting decisions with significant impact on P&L.
