Job summary

Hartford Steam Boiler, a subsidiary of Munich Re, seeks a Senior Portfolio Underwriter to oversee a strategic portfolio with major client relationships. You will harness diagnostic and predictive analytics to optimize product performance, communicate financial results to clients, and exercise binding underwriting authority to drive profitability.

Collaborate with Product Managers and the Underwriting Lead to translate data insights into actionable actions and strategic pricing decisions.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
7+ years of P&C insurance/reinsurance experience.
5+ years in underwriting preferred.
Demonstrated understanding of commercial and personal lines insurance and reinsurance concepts.
Ability to translate large data analysis into actionable decisions.
Understanding of rate development, price segmentation and loss trends.
Experience driving profit and growth targets for a book of business.
Negotiation and conflict resolution experience.

Responsibilities

Manage, monitor, expand and optimize portfolio products for key client relationships.
Analyze data to support rate adequacy, pricing, and loss trend identification.
Develop and deliver client presentations on financial results and analytics.
Make underwriting decisions with binding authority that impact P&L.
Collaborate with Product Managers and Underwriting Lead to deploy capabilities.
