Job summary

Duke Energy is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead utility-scale solar and battery storage projects in Florida, from approval to operation. You will oversee safety, scope, cost, schedule, risk, and contractor performance, coordinating with EPC teams and internal stakeholders.

Reporting to PMC, you will drive turnover, asset readiness, and value delivery, ensuring practical execution and alignment with long-term energy objectives across the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 7+ years work related experience OR 11 years with high school/GED.
• MBA, PMP, PE, AACE or other relevant certification preferred.
• Experience delivering utility-scale solar, battery energy storage, and major infrastructure.
• EPC/design-build contracting from owner or contractor perspective.
• Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead utility-scale solar and battery energy storage projects from project approval through commercial operation and closeout.
• Own overall project performance, including safety, scope, cost, schedule, quality, risk, and stakeholder alignment.
• Lead multidisciplinary matrixed project teams and coordinate across the organization.
• Serve as Duke Energy's primary interface with EPC contractor leadership.
• Establish strong relationships and hold contractors accountable for commitments, safety, quality, schedule.
• Lead resolution of project issues, recovery plans, claims, and commercial matters.
• Coordinate owner scope, owner-furnished equipment, grid interconnection, and turnover activities.
• Turnover assets to operations and ensure long-term asset performance.
