Job summary

Duke Energy seeks a Sr Project Manager to lead utility-scale solar and battery energy storage projects from approval through commercial operation and closeout. You will own performance across safety, scope, cost, schedule and quality, while coordinating EPC contractors and internal stakeholders to ensure on-time turnover and asset readiness.

This role requires strong leadership, extensive project controls, and the ability to report risks and opportunities to senior leadership across Duke

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 7+ years of related work experience; alternative: High School/GED with 11+ years of experience.
• Experience delivering utility-scale solar, battery energy storage, or similar major infrastructure projects.
• Experience managing EPC, design-build, or similar contracting from owner or contractor perspective.

Responsibilities

• Lead utility-scale solar and battery energy storage projects from approval through commercial operation and closeout.
• Own project performance including safety, scope, cost, schedule and quality.
• Manage EPC contractor relationships and ensure contract commitments are met.
• Coordinate owner scope, grid interconnection, and operational readiness for turnover.
• Provide executive reporting and risk management throughout the project lifecycle.
