Job summary

Duke Energy in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead utility-scale solar and battery energy storage projects from approval through operation.

The role oversees safety, quality, cost, schedule, and risk, manages EPC contractors and internal teams, and ensures asset readiness, turnover, and long-term performance. Reporting to a General Manager, you’ll collaborate with development, engineering, construction, transmission, and operations, traveling regionally as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 7+ years of related experience, or HS/GED with 11 years of related experience.
• Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Project Management or related field preferred.
• Experience delivering utility-scale solar, battery energy storage, or related large infrastructure projects; experience managing EPC arrangements is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead utility-scale solar and energy storage projects from approval through commercial operation and closeout.
• Own overall project performance including safety, scope, cost, schedule, quality, risk, and stakeholder alignment.
• Lead multidisciplinary matrixed project teams and coordinate with EPC contractors, internal stakeholders, and external partners.
• Coordinate owner scope, owner-furnished equipment, grid interconnection requirements, and operational readiness activities.
• Manage project budgets, forecasts, contingencies, change management, and contract compliance.
• Provide transparent project reporting to senior leadership and assist in key business decisions.
