Job summary

Duke Energy is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead utility-scale solar and battery energy storage projects from approval through commercial operation and closeout. You will drive safety, quality, scope, and schedule while coordinating internal teams and EPC partners to meet contractual obligations.

The role requires a strong owner’s mindset, strategic oversight, and hands-on leadership across development, transmission, and operations to deliver asset readiness and long-term performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; 7+ years related experience or 11+ years with HS/GED.
• Experience leading complex capital projects in energy or infrastructure.
• MBA, PMP, PE, or related certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead utility-scale solar and battery storage projects from approval through operation and closeout.
• Own project performance: safety, scope, cost, schedule, quality, risk and alignment.
• Manage EPC contractor relationships and ensure contractual commitments are met.
• Coordinate owner scope, equipment, grid interconnection, and turnover activities.
• Control budgets, forecasts, contingencies, change management, and risk.
• Oversee commissioning, startup, and readiness for reliable operation.
• Provide transparent project reporting to senior leadership.
