Job summary

Duke Energy in Raleigh, NC seeks a Senior Project Manager to lead utility-scale solar and battery energy storage projects from approval through commercial operation. You’ll oversee safety, scope, cost, schedule, quality, and risks while coordinating EPC teams and internal stakeholders.

Travel 50% regionally, while ensuring asset readiness, turnover, and long-term value delivery. Bachelor’s degree required; MBA/PM certs preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's level degree in a related field with proven PM experience.
• A track record of delivering utility-scale energy projects on time and on budget.
• Experience managing EPC contracts and owner-operator interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Lead solar and battery energy storage projects from approval to commercial operation and closeout.
• Own overall project performance including safety, scope, cost, schedule, quality and risk.
• Manage EPC contractor interface and cross-functional coordination.
• Coordinate asset turnover, commissioning and operational readiness.
• Provide executive reporting and manage project risks and commercial matters.
• Support project closeout, warranty and lessons learned activities.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Project Management, or related field

MBA, Master's degree or equivalent

PMP, PE, AACE or related professional certification

Experience leading complex capital projects (10+ years preferred)
