Job summary

Joseph Michaels International in Houston is seeking a Senior Project Manager for large-scale electrical or mechanical EPC construction projects. This onsite role requires 70% travel with per diem and oversees all phases from preconstruction through closeout, coordinating clients, leadership, field operations, and subcontractors.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in electrical, mechanical, or EPC construction with multi‑million dollar project delivery, budgeting, scheduling, and risk management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field (equivalent experience considered).
• 10+ years in electrical, mechanical, industrial, utility, or EPC construction.
• Experience leading large-scale electrical or mechanical construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of budgeting, scheduling, procurement, and risk management.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for large-scale electrical, mechanical, or industrial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.
• Manage project financial performance, budgets, cash flow, and forecasting; identify risks and implement corrective actions.
• Direct and coordinate project teams, subcontractors, and vendors to align with schedules and contractual obligations.
• Develop strong relationships with clients and stakeholders; serve as primary point of contact for project performance and negotiations.
• Oversee scheduling, procurement, labor productivity, and material management to optimize efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and applicable codes; promote a proactive safety culture on all sites.
• Mentor and develop project managers and field leadership; drive process improvements and growth.
