Job summary

SSOE is seeking a Senior Project Manager for Automotive/Industrial Facilities Design to lead planning, design, and delivery of complex capital projects for automotive OEMs and energy manufacturers across North America. You will partner with architects, engineers, and specialists to deliver high-performance manufacturing, battery, logistics, and industrial facilities from planning through startup.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering, construction management, or architecture, or 8+ years of experience in lieu of a degree.
• Minimum 10 years in the design industry, with 5 years as a Project Manager.
• Experience managing major capital industrial projects in an engineering or architecture firm preferred.
• Strong contract management, pre-design, pre-construction, renovations, and construction administration.
• Able to travel to project locations for short-term assignments.

Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary design teams delivering automotive manufacturing, assembly, battery, testing, logistics, and industrial facility projects.
• Serve as primary client interface for automotive OEMs, EV manufacturers, battery producers, and Tier 1 suppliers.
• Manage facility expansion, modernization, brownfield renovation, and greenfield development.
• Collaborate with clients to understand production goals, manufacturing requirements, and future capacity needs.
• Coordinate design efforts involving production support systems, utilities, automation, material handling, warehouses, and labs.
• Support strategic planning for capital investment programs in vehicle production and advanced manufacturing.
• Lead project teams through scope definition, budgeting, scheduling, risk management, and execution.
• Support business development and opportunities within automotive, mobility, EV, battery, and advanced manufacturing sectors.
