ABB in the United States is seeking a Senior PLC Technician for Data Center Power Systems. You will lead pre-startup, startup, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of ABB paralleling switchgear and controls in mission-critical power applications.

The role is remote in the US with up to 80% travel regionally. You will mentor junior field staff, coordinate complex field activities, and interface with customers, contractors, and design teams to deliver high-profile projects on time and

Competenze

• Must have 7+ years field experience with high/medium voltage equipment or 5+ years with related degrees.
• Independent field capability on highly complex assignments.
• Experience leading startup and commissioning activities and coordinating energization.

Mansioni

• Plan and execute complex field assignments for paralleling switchgear and PLC/Relay schemes.
• Lead testing of emergency power systems and manage on-site teams.
• Configure and troubleshoot generator controls, protective relays, HMIs, and communications.
• Perform advanced PLC ladder logic modifications following engineering change control.
• Establish and troubleshoot Modbus and PLC-to-PLC communications.
• Interpret drawings, sequence of operations, and commissioning procedures.
• Lead on-site execution, manage punch lists, and ensure on-time project delivery.
• Mentor junior engineers and technicians and provide coaching on safety and documentation.
• Serve as senior escalation resource for remote and on-site troubleshooting.
